Radio

Writer/Producer/Voice Talent, KPBS, FM, San Diego, CA.  This was a weekly radio program developed by myself and a partner called "The Euphonic Institute."  I wrote and produced satire and political and social commentary for the program.  For my efforts I was honored with Awards in Journalism from the San Diego Press Club and the Radio & TV News Association of Southern California (Golden Mike Award).

Announcer, WATS, Sayre, PA.  Duties included single-handedly keeping the station on the air, gathering news, interviews and actualities, reporting on-air and commercial production.

WUHY, FM (now WHYY) in Philadelphia.  Here I wrote and recorded program promos for such shows as “Fresh Air” and “O, Music”.  I also wrote and recorded on-air fund raising materials.

Jewelry

Having started out as an apprentice to a diamond setter on "Jeweler's Row" in Philadelphia, I went on to become a jeweler/goldsmith.  Before becoming a full-time actor, I worked in fine jewelry manufacturing and at the retail level (my "day job").  I rose to a supervisory position with one of the manufacturing shops in which I worked.

For some years I was in business for myself in San Diego as Paul L. Nolan, Jeweler.  Mine was a small retail store specializing in custom orders and repairs.

I continue to keep my hand in at the bench making jewelry and doing repairs for family and friends.

Standardized Patient

I sometimes work as a Standardized Patient with NBOME in Conshohochen.  As an SP, I evaluated the skills of medical students and physicians from foreign countries seeking certification in the U.S.
