THE ACTING PROFESSIONALLY PROGRAM
Actors, at the start of their careers, need to begin mastering a number of skills. These
include: movement, voice and characterization.
However, in order to enjoy success in the business, as one becomes
a professional actor, one must begin to think as a
Small Business Owner/Operator.
I am very excited to offer what
I’ve learned about the business of acting in over 25 years of experience on stage, in the studio and in front of the
camera. The Acting Professionally Program is focused entirely on the business of acting. For an hour or so we’ll
talk about the other skills besides talent, training and ambition which an actor must have in order to achieve success. Among
the questions we’ll explore...
Employment resources
Whom
do I need to see and how do I go about doing so?
Résumé preparation
How
do I present myself in the best light possible?
Talent Agents
What
exactly does an agent do for me and what does he or she expect from me?
Headshots
Full?
Three quarter? Composite? How do I find a photographer?
Union membership
To
join or not to join and when?
Casting agents
What exactly is
the actor/agent/casting agent relationship?
The Acting Professionally Program has been very well received...
“Your presentation was wonderful...outstanding...you
provided and important learning opportunity. We would be delighted to have you return in the Fall (and every semester thereafter)
to continue this dialogue.”
